Football History and Culture

Coach Turner is from Tampa, Florida.  He graduated from North Cobb High School and attended Kennesaw State University.  While at North Cobb he played in the Wing-T under Coach Robert Lassiter. 

Coach Turner coached football for 28 years.  Spending the first 10 years at North Cobb High School working with Wing-T coaches such as Robbie Robertson and Kenny Palmer.  Coach Turner moved to Tampa, FL in 2006 and was the offensive coordinator at Newsome High School in Lithia, FL for 11 years.  He spent the next five years at East Bay High School in Gibsonton, FL.  While at Newsome and East Bay High, Coach Turners Wing-T offensives set over 30 school records. 

Coach Turner returned to Newsome High in 2024 as the Head Coach.  Newsome finished the season 7-3 and made the Regional Semi Finals in the State Playoffs.  Coach Turner was recognized as the Tampa Bay Bucs Coach of the week.
